Deb’s Energy Bites
Planning on heading out to use up some energy this weekend? Going out for a hike or a bike? Got long day of gardening ahead of you?
Heading into Advantage for an action packed workout maybe? 🙂
Whatever you are planning on doing, plan on making a batch of these to take with you.
Last week Deb brought these in for Kelley’s going away party and they were a huge hit. (so much so that Kelley smuggled Debs Tupperware home so she could finish them)
Now, these are ENERGY bites, so they are calorie dense. But the peanut butter is very slow to digest, and there is no sugar so it’s not going to give you a sugar rush.
Roll up a batch of these for your next hike or for a snack between ice sessions. You will thank Deb for it!
- 1 Cup Rolled Oats
- 2/3 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup cacao nibs
- 1/2 cup ground flax seed
- 1/4 cup honey (unfiltered if you can)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Put everything in a bowl
2. Mix it with your hands
3. Shape into whatever sized balls you want, store them covered in the fridge for up to a week.
Enjoy!
