ABOUT US

CHOOSE A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

Advantage Personal Training blends the energy, camaraderie and community you want in a group class, with the support and personalization you expect in personal training. Add in targeted nutrition counseling and qualified coaches, and you’ve got a recipe for a gym-going experience like no other.

While some gyms adopt a “no pain, no gain” model and others don’t care whether you show up, we take a different approach. We make fitness fun! We do different exercises and explore new ways to engage your body, and we do it in an environment that welcomes everyone. Our members want to work out, because they’re surrounded by support and always feel the energy. Come and experience it for yourself!

GIVING YOU THE STRENGTH TO PLAY

Advantage Personal Training opened its doors in April 2012 with a focus on youth athletic training. A year after opening, we tiered our membership program to keep up with the demand for good training, and to offer adults the same great training their sons and daughters experienced. Two years after that, we added an additional 1,300 square feet to house new weight equipment, and to give us a wide-open turf space for training. Since then, we’ve expanded to offer both individualized and group strength training and athletic development programs to people of all ages!

Over the better part of a decade, our team has grown to include an incredible group of talented coaches, physical therapists and vital role-players. We’re extremely proud of our community of life-long learners, each dedicated to improving their craft. We look to continue growing and are always looking for new ways to offer intelligent, responsible and effective training solutions for youth, teens, adults and teams.

WHY CHOOSE ADVANTAGE PERSONAL TRAINING?

At Advantage Personal Training, we train our clients according to a progression. It begins with basic strength and fitness skills, all the way up to specialized sport specific training.

In younger athletes, we stress a solid general strength and conditioning program because it enhances overall performance, prepares young bodies for competition and future training, and helps prevent overuse injuries due to the variety of exercises. After this base is solid, we continue towards more sport specific improvements.

Our training objectives are broken down by age. Of course, not everyone fits the mold when it comes to health and physical development, so each athlete is examined individually. We believe in a fitness routine that fits you, not one you need to fit into.

MEET OUR FOUNDER, BRIAN SIPOTZ

After a seven-year professional hockey career, Brian Sipotz founded Advantage Personal Training with the goal of bringing intelligent, responsible and effective training to youth, teens, adults and teams in the area. Brian believes support and accountability are pillars of fitness success, and that the best way to create these stepping stones to better fitness is through an individualized training program that’s fun and energizing.

Brian is behind all of the programs at Advantage Personal Training and strives to create an environment that’s welcoming and warm for everyone.

Blake Berent

Coach

My name is Blake Berent and I am from a small town near Saginaw, Michigan called St. Charles.  I got started lifting weights in 2015, my sophomore year of high school, to become a better, football, baseball, and basketball player.

I didn't have great guidance when I got started working out so I decided to major in exercise science at the University of Michigan to be able to help others with their fitness goals.

I graduated in April 2022 and started at Advantage two days later! I bring in a solid anatomy background that helps me cue and correct exercises, and I also like to think I bring an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

  • On a day off, you’ll find me: Sleeping in and working out
  • The best thing about Advantage is The MEMBERS!

Advantage is one of the best places to work. The community feel in the gym is amazing, and there’s always a friendly competition between members to keep the motivation high. The wide variety of members on a daily basis keeps me on my toes, and the days go fast when you do something you love. Seeing results from the youth classes all the way through the adults is one thing I love seeing. Whether its placing well in a tournament/competition or just hitting a personal goal that we have been working towards. It’s the little things here at Advantage that make it so rewarding to make a difference in someone’s life.
