Mental Mornings: Sparking Mental Performance with Morning Exercise
What if there was a way to help your child GROW his or her brain, reduce anxiety, control hyperactivity, elevate mood, and boost self-esteem. Would you explore that opportunity? Luckily that opportunity is here.
In the first educational program offered by Advantage University, we help boost your child’s brain performance by starting the day with aerobic exercise. Based on information gathered in the groundbreaking book Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain by John Ratey, aerobic exercise has been shown to grow your brain by forming new connections and making existing connections more efficient. The brain, once thought to have had a fixed number of neurons, is now thought to be more of a muscle which can adapt to training. Exercise helps to grow this “muscle” by flooding it with oxygen-rich blood and beneficial neurotransmitters.
We, the coaches of Advantage University, have always been firm believers in the positive effects of exercise on the brain. Now there is scientific proof to back up what we believe. We will begin Mental Mornings in September 2013. Join our interest list to be included in additional information about the program. As the summer goes on we will reveal more about how this program can help your child, why it will be held before school, and how we plan to run the workouts.
